Bungie Sets Second Season Start Date for Marathon

Bungie has shared details about the second season of the extraction shooter Marathon. The season, titled NIGHTFALL, will kick off on June 2, with a full update presentation scheduled for May 25. Developers promise to showcase a new runner shell, fresh weapon samples, and a night version of the "Dreadful Swamp" map.

Before the launch of NIGHTFALL, developers will introduce a series of changes to the current season. Events on maps will now be guaranteed to occur in every run, and Guardians will be guaranteed to drop keys for locked rooms.

At the same time, Bungie will make survival on locations more challenging. New points of interest on "Perimeter," "Dreadful Swamp," and "Outpost" will feature additional Guardians, and dropship landings from OKSZ will become more frequent on "Perimeter." Furthermore, a new threat will emerge in "Dreadful Swamp," which, according to developers, will attempt to "stop runner activity." Based on the description, this could refer to a new type of enemy robot.

In addition, the endgame zone "Cryo-Archive" will be available from May 21 to June 2 – until the very start of the second season. Players will also be able to receive a free sponsored pack for "Cryo-Archive" daily.
