007 First Light has become the fastest-selling game in IO Interactive's history. Analysts from Alinea Analytics note that at least a third of all sales came from Steam. The game has already earned over $25 million.
About a third of 007 First Light players had previously played the Hitman series, which indicates a high level of interest from IO Interactive's audience in the studio's new project. In addition, China unexpectedly became the game's second-largest market on Steam, accounting for 18% of users, second only to the US with 29%.
IO Interactive stated that such a strong start reflects the enormous global interest in the game and is an important achievement for the studio.
