Players are starting to explore the available promotional materials, and some have spotted "clues" about the content.

Currently, CD Projekt RED, in collaboration with Fool's Theory studio, is preparing a new expansion, Songs of the Past, for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The presentation is expected this summer, and the developers have not yet revealed the details, but they have indicated some things.

It is already known that the story will somehow be connected to Belleteyn — a holiday in The Witcher universe that marks the beginning of Blath, the fifth month in the elven calendar. CDPR also published promotional art depicting Geralt with a sword.

The blade caught the attention of blogger Neon Knight, who recalled seeing something similar before. He believes that the developers showcased a sword that closely resembles a refined Melltith.

Based on this blade, he developed a theory. It is assumed that the events of the Songs of the Past expansion may unfold in the kingdom of Cidaris, as the sword's design refers to elves, and the kingdom's capital is founded on the ruins of an ancient elven city. This creates a very specific coincidence.

There is also a theory that players in The Witcher 3 will have to face the Oakchud — a "living tree" from The Witcher universe.

The release of the Songs of the Past expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is scheduled for 2027.
