"Bombora" is working on a book about the secrets of "BioWare magic" and the development of the Dragon Age series

In the foreseeable future, thanks to a new book from "Bombora" publishing house, readers will be able to learn what "BioWare magic" is, how conditions, trends, and the industry itself changed during the development of the Dragon Age series, and to what extent Electronic Arts influenced the studio's creative decisions.

"BioWare magic" — that's what the studio called its development approach, where a huge project somehow came together literally in the last months before release. And although the developers joked about magic, behind it were years of complex work, constant compromises, and crunch.

Today it became known that "Bombora" publishing house has begun work on a book that will analyze this phenomenon using Dragon Age — one of the most famous RPG sagas — as an example.

The author of the book is Veronika Mikhailova, a G5 screenwriter and a regular contributor to "Mir Fantastiki". In recent years, she has written extensively about BioWare's work and its key franchises, so the history of Dragon Age has long been a subject of particular interest to her.

Thanks to the new edition, readers will be able to learn how conditions, trends, and the industry itself changed during the development of Dragon Age, to what extent Electronic Arts influenced the studio's creative decisions, why the secondary nature of Dragon Age is so well disguised, and what the true uniqueness of the saga is.

In addition, it will be possible to understand whether the very "BioWare magic" is a myth or a working tool, and how the lore of Thedas is built on allusions to real history — from Joan of Arc to the fall of the Roman Empire. "Bombora" is not yet ready to announce the release date or price of the book.
