Retroid Pocket Nova Portable Console Appearance and Display Specifications Revealed
Users can finally see what the horizontal portable console Retroid Pocket Nova will look like, as well as get acquainted with its display characteristics.
Retroid has shared a new image with gamers, revealing the appearance of its next portable console called Pocket Nova. The developers also provided the technical specifications of the device's display.
The new product will feature a matte translucent body with a transparent D-pad and ABXY buttons. It will be equipped with symmetrical joysticks with ring backlighting and two front-facing speakers.
The Retroid Pocket Nova features a 4.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 × 960 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This screen is larger than the 3.92-inch OLED display of the discontinued Pocket Mini V2 model, which had a resolution of 1240 × 1080 and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
The remaining specifications of the portable console will likely be revealed over time, possibly in portions, similar to how Ayaneo handles the upcoming Pocket Micro 2. Also, more color options are likely to appear, in addition to the one shown in the image above.
Nevertheless, given the details already published, the Retroid Pocket Nova promises to be an interesting horizontal portable console with a 4:3 aspect ratio screen. Judging by online comments, the device will not have a glass front panel, which many users dislike.
