Uwe Boll Wants to Bring Alone in the Dark Back to the Big Screen

Director Uwe Boll, known for video game adaptations, announced the possible return of Alone in the Dark to the big screen.

Director Uwe Boll stated that he has reacquired the rights to the Alone in the Dark franchise and is negotiating with Hollywood producers for a new film.

For many gamers, Uwe Boll's name has long been associated with not always successful game adaptations. He directed films such as House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, and many others, which often became targets of criticism. The 2005 adaptation of Alone in the Dark, starring Christian Slater, Tara Reid, and Stephen Dorff, is particularly memorable.

The film failed at the box office and with audiences, grossing around $12.6 million. Boll himself believes that over time, the film has gained cult status.

In an interview with LRM, the director revealed that he has become interested in the franchise again. He has reacquired the rights to Alone in the Dark and has begun collaborating with producers to create a new project. Boll also noted that screenings of his old films at festivals still attract an audience.
