Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Director Says CDPR Spends Roughly the Same Resources on Side Quests as on Main Quests
Players really enjoy CDPR's side quests, and some doubt anyone can compete with such developers.
Paweł Sasko, Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Director and head of the sequel's development, recently spoke out on social media again. His attention was drawn to a post about the Peralezes' side quests “I Fought the Law” and “Dream On.”
One player asked a question and answered it themselves:
Does CD Projekt Red even have competitors when it comes to side quests and expansions? Personally, I don't think so — this is a GOAT-level studio.
Paweł Sasko took the opportunity to talk about CD Projekt RED's approach to work. According to the developer, roughly the same resources are allocated to the production of side quests as to main quests:
We put significant effort into side stories: most often they have the same budget and production time [as main missions…]
According to Paweł, developers get more creative freedom when working on side quests because such quests “are usually not tied to the main story.” He did not provide any specific figures for the allocated budget.
Earlier, Paweł Sasko spoke about layoffs in the industry — he really dislikes what is happening.
