Ubisoft Prepares for the Return of Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon

After the release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft will slow down the pace of new game releases for a while and then launch "strong releases."

Ubisoft stated in its financial report that after a "modest release schedule," players can expect "strong releases in the 2027–2028 fiscal year," which will run from April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2028.

After the 2026–2027 fiscal year, the group expects a significantly busier content release schedule in the 2027–2028 and 2028–2029 fiscal years across its key franchises, including Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon.

Ubisoft also expects to accelerate the development of live-service games. The company believes that, along with a stronger release schedule, an updated portfolio, and further reductions in fixed costs, this will ensure a "significant recovery with a return to positive free cash flow."

The publisher added that it will later introduce new premium games for its well-known franchises. It is already known that the next installment of Assassin's Creed, codenamed Hexe, will be a darker story with elements of witchcraft. Assassin's Creed Jade for mobile and Beyond Good & Evil 2 are also in development. Far Cry 7 has not been officially announced.
