The introduction of new mechanics in World of Warcraft Midnight has become a difficult task.
With World of Warcraft Midnight, a construction system will be introduced in the game. Blizzard Entertainment had to solve various problems during its implementation.
In an interview with GamesRadar+, WoW lead designer Toby Ragaini explained that many factors need to be considered when working:
«Firstly, performance. WoW runs on many different PCs, and we need everyone to be happy. The districts and houses themselves are a complex task, as they are completely different from the existing zones and the content we've had before.
There is also "accessibility" for players; the desire for someone to approach the game as a beginner, with minimal requirements, in the spirit of: "I want to drag furniture, and I like it." But I think one of the advantages of what we offer players is that the game scales according to their desires».
World of Warcraft developers will offer two construction modes: basic and advanced (more options and various restrictions are removed).
