The sensational game has changed significantly by the time of release.
The survival game Valheim from Iron Gate studio has become a huge hit. In a few years, the game has sold over 10 million copies.
As it turned out, the original idea of the game was significantly different. A PCGamesN journalist managed to talk to creative director Robin Eyre.
He said that Iron Gate "didn't really set out to make a survival game".
Initially, it was supposed to be a game in another popular genre — it was supposed to be a battle royale:
"Valheim was once conceived as a "battle royale", in which Vikings land and try to survive or get to the center. However, we turned the game into something else, and it was important for us to have a cooperative, not PvP. Of course, you can turn on friendly fire and all that, but we believe that working together is our style of play, we don't want confrontation [between players]."
