The new content will be available on October 31st.
In a recent livestream, the developers of Path of Exile revealed details about the new "Keepers of the Flame" league, as well as upcoming changes and innovations that will appear in the game with the launch of the new season.
Players will meet a character named Ailyth on the coast in the first act, who will task them with destroying the first enemies from the Breach in exchange for a piece of power. As players progress through the story, they will clear Unstable Breaches, fight the first major boss — Vroon, Marshal of Xesht — and encounter other Breachlords in the endgame. The updated interface will help players better navigate the mechanics.
The central element of the league will be the Keepers' Monastery — a place associated with the new Monk class, and the Genesis Tree, a unique progression system. With the help of this tree, players will be able to create and improve "Grafts" that literally grow out of the character's body, granting new abilities and characteristics. These "Grafts" use a special league currency, replacing traditional resources.
In addition to the league, new mechanics will appear in the game. "Bloodline Classes" are secondary subclasses based on the abilities of endgame bosses. To unlock them, players will have to return to old content and defeat the corresponding bosses. New abilities will also appear, including strengthening allied projectiles and exploding arrows that are activated when enemies approach.
