From 1997 to 2005, the Carmageddon series offered explosive racing on PC and consoles. After a long hiatus, Stainless Games brought the franchise back in 2014 with Carmageddon: Reincarnation, followed by Max Damage two years later.
A new spin-off, Carmageddon: Rogue Shift, was announced at the PC Gaming Show.
The game adds roguelite elements to the series' arcade racing. Players will unlock new weapons, classes, and perks, fight bosses, and explore branching maps. The game features a day/night cycle and dynamic weather, and after sunset, the streets are filled with zombies. You can only win by winning the Carmageddon tournament.
We're bringing something new to the franchise and the racing genre. Carmageddon means exploring, experimenting, painting the streets red, and crushing opponents. We want players to adapt, level up, and happily destroy hordes of zombies behind the wheel of a death machine.
Carmageddon: Rogue Shift is being developed by the new studio 34BigThings. The game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC in early 2026.
