A HoYoverse representative reminded that the Genshin Impact anime was initially designed as a long-term project, so fans should be patient.
HoYoverse confirmed that the production of the Genshin Impact anime continues and has not encountered any difficulties. This was shared by combat system designer Aquaria during the Genshin FES 2026 festival held in Shanghai.
According to the developer, work on the project is "progressing steadily" and is not experiencing any technical or organizational problems. He noted that the anime was originally intended as a long-term project, and its production is being carried out in parallel with the preparation of updates for the main game.
The project is being created in partnership with ufotable studio, known for the "Demon Slayer" anime franchise. The collaboration was announced back in September 2022, when the first concept trailer was presented. After that, HoYoverse did not share new details for a long time, which gave rise to rumors about a possible freeze or cancellation of the project. Now, the company has confirmed that production is proceeding according to plan.
At the same time, HoYoverse is not yet ready to name specific or even approximate release dates. The production approach of ufotable studio involves focusing on one project, so the current state of the Genshin Impact anime remains not entirely clear, especially considering that the studio still has two feature films from the final "Demon Slayer" trilogy ahead.
