"Avatar: Flame and Ash" Earned Over $1.23 Billion at the Global Box Office
James Cameron's Avatar sequel continues to confidently collect box office revenue.
The worldwide gross of the movie Avatar: Flame and Ash reached $1.231 billion after four weeks of release. Of this amount, $342.6 million came from the USA, while the main part of the income was collected in international markets - $888 million.
Over the past weekend, the film earned $21.3 million in North American distribution and another $65.6 million outside the United States.
Despite the confident dynamics, the third "Avatar" is behind the previous parts at a similar stage of distribution. For comparison: after four weekends, "Avatar: The Way of Water" raised $1.713 billion, and the original "Avatar" - $1.335 billion. This makes it unlikely that the records of the first two films will be repeated, but the final result may still be sufficient for the further development of the franchise.
As a reminder, Disney has already outlined plans to continue the series: the fourth film is scheduled for December 2029, and the fifth for December 2031. Earlier, James Cameron admitted that he had concerns about the distribution amid a decrease in cinema attendance and general audience fatigue from sequels, but "Flame and Ash" demonstrates stable endurance in distribution.
