Control Resonant Won't Be a "Safe Sequel," Remedy Promises "Most Ambitious Game"
Remedy Entertainment, the creators of Alan Wake 2 and Control, are preparing Control Resonant - a sequel to the original 2017 game, where Dylan Faden explores Manhattan to stop a paranormal threat.
The developers wrote on X:
We wanted to challenge ourselves and create the biggest and most ambitious game we've ever made. This is not a safe sequel. We want to push the boundaries of what is possible, and we believe that after 7 years, fans deserve it.
The game is described as an open-world action RPG with "vast zones" that can be completed in any order. Dylan uses his abilities and a transforming Aberrant, searches for his missing sister, and tries to save the world, facing branching missions and random events.
Creative director Mikael Kasurinen canceled:
This world is alive, strange, and repeatable - full of discoveries that reward curiosity and exploration.
Dylan will "make new connections," "face the affairs of the past," and make "impossible decisions" that can "determine the fate of humanity."
Control Resonant will be released on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
