The first season of the series has just started on HBO, but work on the sequel is already underway.

The showrunner of the series \"A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,\" Ira Parker, shared the first details about the second season. Like the first, it will consist of six episodes, but the story may be even more intimate in scale.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Parker noted that \"the scale will remain the same or even become smaller\". Each novella in the \"Tales of Dunk and Egg\" cycle has about 80 pages, so the format of six episodes lasting 30-40 minutes allows you to tell the story without unnecessary stretching.

At the same time, according to the showrunner, the project's budget has not increased, although the filming itself has become more expensive. If the first season was filmed in rainy Belfast, then in the second the team will have to convey the atmosphere of a drought period — for this they had to look for other, more \"expensive\" locations.

Despite this, he emphasizes that he enjoys working on the sequel. Parker admits that the second season will be \"different,\" but expresses hope that \"for the better.\"

The new season will be based on The Sworn Sword, the second story in George R. R. Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg. The premiere of the second season is expected no earlier than 2027. The exact release date has not yet been announced.
