Valve canceled a wave of VAC bans in Counter-Strike 2 - one of the modders got banned on his own map
The developers noticed what was happening and decided to restore justice.
After the recent major Counter-Strike 2 update, players noticed that the anti-cheat was behaving too strangely. VAC bans began to be issued to random players.
The situation got to the point that the author of the new Alpine map got banned on it — he just wanted to play, but the system glitched and "rewarded" him with a VAC ban.
Soon, Valve introduced a mini-patch for Counter-Strike 2, which is designed to fix a number of problems and restore justice:
- Fixed a bug that caused a small number of users to be mistakenly VAC banned. These bans have been reversed.
- Various server stability improvements.
- Fixed a bug that caused physical objects to interact with multiple overlapping convex volumes of water at once.
- Radar updated to reflect recent changes.
