While the gaming industry's attention is focused on Resident Evil Requiem, scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, project director Koshi Nakanishi is already contemplating the future of the franchise.
In an interview, he stated that he would like to return to the Revelations sub-series. According to him, the format is suitable for developing the stories of iconic characters who remain in the shadows of the numbered installments but deserve separate attention in a modern presentation.
Nakanishi shared that he has already thought through what the key heroes were doing between the main events of the series. Revelations originally served as a narrative bridge: the first part, released on the Nintendo 3DS, and 2015's Revelations 2 featuring Claire Redfield, showed what happened to the characters in the intervals between global catastrophes. Returning to this model would give Capcom the opportunity to focus again on heroes like Jill Valentine following the success of the remakes and the new trilogy.
Fans of the series met these words with enthusiasm, noting that more than ten years have passed since Claire's last appearance in Revelations. Against the backdrop of high interest in Requiem, the release of a spin-off that is technically a full-fledged project seems like a logical step.
