The battle royale will continue to receive updates on other platforms, including Switch 2.
Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have officially announced the end of support for Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch. The version for the first console model will be permanently shut down on August 4, 2026, starting with Season 30.
The developers emphasize that the decision applies exclusively to the original Nintendo Switch. The enhanced version for Switch 2, released in August 2025, remains fully active and will continue to be supported alongside the current generations of consoles and PC.
Until the servers are shut down, Nintendo Switch owners will be able to play without restrictions: take part in matches, receive rewards, and level up their accounts as usual. However, starting August 4, the purchase of premium in-game currency on this platform will become unavailable.
All information about player progress, including purchased items, cosmetics, and currency, is tied to an EA account. This means that when switching platforms to Switch 2, all accumulated content will be preserved automatically, even if the new console is purchased only after support for the old version has ended.
