Fans spotted a hint of Half-Life 3 on the updated Cache map in Counter-Strike 2
Some fans continue to believe in Half-Life 3 and try to find "teasers" everywhere.
In late April, Valve introduced a major content update for the online shooter Counter-Strike 2. The Cache map returned to the game in an updated format. It is now available again in “Competitive” and other game modes.
Those awaiting a new installment of the Half-Life franchise immediately began exploring Cache in search of Valve's “teasers.” The location of the fuse boxes caught the attention of some users, like scolcer_:
Valve yesterday released the classic Cache map for Counter-Strike 2. In one part of the map, it seems technicians were able to fix fuse boxes #1 and #2 and are now working on the third. (Let's ignore the fact that, from a lore perspective, the map is located in Pripyat in an abandoned zone).
Blogger-dataminer Gabe Follower then drew the community's attention to a change on the Cache map — soon fuse box #4 appeared, and the third one still had its cover removed.
This is not the first time players have seen “signals” about alleged work on Half-Life 3. Sometimes researchers find more specific “traces” in Valve games. For example, mentions of a transport system and other elements associated with the HLX project (allegedly “Half-Life 3”) have been found in Counter-Strike 2.
