Metacritic compiled a top 20 best Star Wars games - in honor of "Star Wars Day"

Early May marks "Star Wars Day," and the aggregator Metacritic joined the celebration. The website presented a selection of the 20 best games in the franchise.

The games were sorted by their average Metacritic score — the "top twenty" was rounded out by the LEGO adaptation SW The Force Awakens, released in 2016.

• 20 — LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2016) — 78/100.
• 19 — Star Wars: Squadrons (2020) — 79/100.
• 18 — Star Wars: Empire at War (2006) — 79/100.
• 17 — Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (2019) — 79/100.
• 16 — Star Wars: Battlefront (2004) — 80/100.
• 15 — Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (2003) — 81/100.
• 14 — Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter (2002) — 81/100.
• 13 — LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (2006) — 81/100.
• 12 — LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (2022) — 82/100.
• 11 — Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005) — 83/100.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, released in 2023, took sixth place. This is the newest game in this top 20.

• 10 — Star Wars: Episode I Battle for Naboo (2000) — 84/100.
• 9 — Star Wars: Starfighter (2001) — 84/100.
• 8 — Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011) — 85/100.
• 7 — Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (1998) — 85/100.
• 6 — Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (2023) — 85/100.

The leader of the list was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic — a remake of the game was announced several years ago, but the project has not yet been released.

• 4 — Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (2002) — 89/100.
