The Sims 4 will get a free character editor expansion and stop taking away children without good reason

The creators of the life simulator The Sims 4 are preparing to release a May update, which includes many fixes and free improvements.

A new base layer category will be added to the character creation editor, with which players will be able to choose more diverse outfits for Sims and cover exposed skin areas. Adults will have 8 base layer options, children – 4, and toddlers – 2, all in different shades. In total, players will have access to more than 380 base layer options.

A new playmat will appear, on which Sims will place infants.

Some other fixes and changes:

• New option "Disable autonomous infant care" – if activated, care will have to be done manually.
• Fixed an issue where children were taken away due to non-existent parental neglect.
• Upon waking up due to the radio or TV, Sims will now turn off the device and go back to sleep. Thus, sleep will still be interrupted by noise for a clearly understood reason, but only once.
• Fixed an issue where non-playable characters would enter houses to drink water. This fix is not retroactive and will not work if this has already happened in the current save.
• Infant and toddler needs bars will no longer drop when the playable character (and player) is on a different lot.
• Toddlers will stop ignoring hunger when they have access to food.
• The "Nap" action now has a tooltip explaining that the Sim will sleep for a short time and only partially restore energy.
• Fixed an issue where exhausted characters could go to bed and then still collapse from fatigue.

The Sims 4 update is scheduled for release on May 12.
