Devil May Cry anime showrunner answers questions about a possible Pragmata adaptation
Adi Shankar receives many messages asking him to adapt Capcom's new hit.
Adi Shankar, who served as showrunner for the anime adaptations of Devil May Cry and Castlevania for Netflix, commented on a possible Pragmata adaptation. According to him, after the release of Capcom's new game, friends started massively writing to him with suggestions to take on the adaptation.
"I was concerned by the number of people who wrote to me saying I should adapt Pragmata. They said, 'Oh my God, you absolutely have to do this next!'"
Shankar currently has no such plans. According to him, the success of Devil May Cry has opened up new opportunities for him, so the next two projects will be original. At the same time, Shankar spoke positively about Capcom's new game and noted that its success is largely due to its originality.
"I think one of the reasons people are so excited about Pragmata is its originality. It's not a reboot of Dead Space or The Last of Us 3. I'm very excited about original projects. I think there's a place for everything. But the success I've had over the past few years has opened up new opportunities for me."
The second season of Devil May Cry is now available on Netflix.
