Modder created an Elden Ring-style soulslike for Nintendo 64 and showed gameplay
FromSoftware's game inspired a tech enthusiast to creative achievements.
Developer BoxingBruin recently shared how he made "Elden Ring" for Nintendo 64. This is not a video concept, but a full-fledged game for the old console, inspired by FromSoftware's hit.
He named his project "Pandemonium" — it's a soulslike about a boss battle. The developer prepared a unique story and cinematic.
BoxingBruin independently created models for the location and characters, and work on animations took "many, many, many, many days" (about three weeks). He also made music, implemented a collision system (collision detection), and artificial intelligence for the boss.
To create an unrendered cutscene entirely in 3D, it was necessary to program every change and movement in the scene.
The video is available at the following link. The game was launched on Nintendo 64.
Earlier, another tech enthusiast under the nickname 2009aero presented an alternative version of Elden Ring. He made a playable demake that runs on the original PlayStation 1 console hardware. He used the Minecraft engine as the basis for his project (he previously worked on the PS1 version of the voxel sandbox).
