The Witcher 3 already has a sword from the Songs of the Past expansion - a modder assembled the weapon model
Fans can already add a piece of the future DLC to The Witcher 3.
Yesterday, CD Projekt RED announced the Songs of the Past expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While the developers have only shown a promo poster for the DLC, the modding community has already become active and released the first project based on the DLC.
A modder under the nickname merigoldmaribor recreated Geralt's (as yet unnamed) sword model, which players could see in the DLC advertisement:
Who would have thought that after 11 whole years I would get a new expansion? In honor of this announcement, I decided to make a sword inspired by the one Geralt holds on the promo poster for the Songs of the Past expansion :)
The modification replaces the steel sword of the School of the Wolf. In addition, the modder also changes the scabbard texture to match the one shown on the promo poster.
The modder distributes the "Songs of the Past Sword" modification for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for free via Nexus Mods. Commentators praised his work and the impressive speed of creating the modification. According to the modder, he started working "as soon as he saw the promo poster." He also noted that he plans to make a similar mod for the silver sword in the future.
