Retroid revealed the chip and GPU of Pocket Nova - a handheld console for retro gamers

Users awaiting the release of the Retroid Pocket Nova handheld console have finally learned what chip and GPU will be found inside. In addition, the device will be compatible with a second screen accessory.

Every day, Retroid shares information about the Pocket Nova handheld console, which is sure to compete with Anbernic RG 55G1 and Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 for the attention of retro gamers.

Gamers have already learned about the device's display and color options. Now, the developers have announced that this new product will feature a Qualcomm QCS8550 chip (1 Kryo Prime core @ 3.2GHz, 4 Kryo Gold performance cores @ 2.8GHz, 3 Kryo Silver power-efficient cores @ 2.0GHz) with an Adreno 740 GPU @ 680MHz.

There is also support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. It seems Retroid is truly trying to create the ultimate 4:3 retro console with enough power to emulate PS2 at increased resolution and run a range of demanding Android games.

In addition, user Sotnekron asked Retroid if the Pocket Nova would be compatible with the second screen accessory that many gamers used on the Pocket 5 and Pocket 6.

Retroid confirmed that compatibility with the dual-screen mount will indeed be present. This news will surely delight Nintendo DS fans.
