The real-time strategy game Syrian Warfare (or "Syria: Russian Storm") has been available on Steam for many years. In late June, Valve's summer sale began, and some users noticed that the game itself was no longer for sale, while additional content was still in the store.
Cats Who Play studio stated that sales of Syrian Warfare were discontinued after complaints that the game allegedly contained viruses:
The reason was complaints from several users that their antivirus suspected the presence of a virus in the game's executable file. This is due to the digital signature of the executable file no longer working. We are in contact with Steam support, a version with a new digital signature has already been uploaded, and we are waiting for moderation to pass.
The developers contacted Valve and soon reported that the problem had been resolved:
Good news, Syrian Warfare is back on Steam! Thanks to everyone who was worried, everything is fine! )
The Syrian Warfare strategy game on Steam has received "very positive" reviews from players. A DLC campaign, Return to Palmyra, is also available for the game.
