Marvel updates "doomsday clock" and reveals new "Avengers: Doctor Doom" poster

The studio is building anticipation ahead of new material being shown.

Marvel Studios has updated the countdown to the premiere of "Avengers: Doctor Doom" on YouTube. The background of the "doomsday clock" has changed to a new poster featuring Victor von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.

The previous countdown change occurred shortly before the release of the first trailer on July 20. At that time, the numbers on the clock changed color before the video was released. Therefore, fans speculate that the current update also precedes the demonstration of new materials.

A new trailer may be presented during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at the D23 festival. Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed the showing of the video, but several insiders have reported it in recent days.

Costumes of the "Avengers: Doctor Doom" heroes were also exhibited at D23. Visitors were shown updated looks for Nightcrawler and Mystique, who will again be played by Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn. Instead of the all-black costumes from the original "X-Men" trilogy, the characters received looks closer to the comics.

"Avengers: Doctor Doom" will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026.
