Pirated Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Performs Worse Than Licensed Version With Denuvo

News

This summer saw the release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. On PC, the game was protected by the infamous DRM Denuvo, which some players blame for performance issues.

However, the protection was recently cracked by a well-known hacker under the nickname voices38. He practices "old-school cracking," so for the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced "crack" to work, there will be no need to disable security systems, as is the case with the hypervisor cracking method.

According to initial tests, the pirated version of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced does not perform very well. Results published on gamegpu show that the cracked version has lower FPS. The test was conducted on a PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 980X3D and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card.

According to gamegpu, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced in 4K resolution, with the GPU fully utilized, the licensed version of the game showed an average of 71 FPS with a maximum of 93 FPS and a total of 9723 rendered frames.

In comparison, the pirated version of Black Flag Resynced showed an average of 70 FPS with a peak of 91 FPS and 9677 frames, meaning the results are lower than the original version (though within the margin of error).

Overall, players really liked Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. The project received "Very Positive" reviews on Steam (an 80% rating after 28 thousand reviews).
