Kit Harington Doesn't Believe Marvel Will Bring Back Black Knight in Any Project

The collapse of "Blade" with Mahershala Ali has left Dane Whitman's fate in limbo.

Kit Harington stated in an interview with MovieWeb that he would like to return to the role of Dane Whitman. The actor is particularly interested in seeing how the Ebony Blade changes his character, but Harington doubts that Marvel Studios has any plans for the Black Knight's further story:

"I'd love to go back. But, I don't want to disappoint you, I don't think there's a plan for that. I think it's a fantastic character. The whole story with the Ebony Blade, where the more he kills, the stronger the addiction becomes, serves as a great parable for addiction. He's a good man who gradually goes down a bad path, and I really like that. But we'll see. I don't know if Marvel has any plans."

Dane Whitman first appeared in "Eternals" in 2021. In the post-credits scene, he opened a case containing the Ebony Blade and heard Blade's voice, but since then, the character's story has not continued. Marvel has not announced either a sequel to "Eternals" or a solo project about the Black Knight.

At the same time, insiders have repeatedly claimed that Marvel is developing a team-up film about the "Midnight Sons," where Black Knight, Blade, Moon Knight, and other supernatural Marvel heroes might meet. Such a project has never been officially announced, so this information should currently be regarded purely as a rumor, especially in light of the collapse of "Blade" with Mahershala Ali.
