The developers have expanded the arsenal and improved gameplay.

In early September, Saber Interactive studio and Focus Entertainment publisher returned to the cooperative shooter John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and presented a major update.

The authors published an appeal to the community, which is also available in Russian:

Hello, commandos! We are happy to announce the release of Content Update 2! Along with it, a new game mode has been released: Retrieval. Collect relics and reach the extraction point before hordes of zombies catch up to you. We hope you enjoy it!

Among the novelties:

Retrieval mode, which will open up new game options. Gamers will be offered to choose a map, collect relics, and reach the extraction point before hordes of zombies catch up to the team: “But act fast, or you'll attract the attention of the Slime God, and he wants you dead.” In the current version, Retrieval mode is available on four maps: Church of the Damned, High Octane, Impasse, and Demon Bait.

In addition, new “Goblin” zombies have appeared — small enemies will appear in groups and attack the same target, and are also able to revive each other as long as at least one of the three remains alive.

John Carpenter's Toxic Commando - Retrieval Update

Four weapon models have been added to John Carpenter's Toxic Commando, including: the Le Clairon assault rifle, flamethrower, Thunderstick, and trap saw.

Various improvements have also been implemented, such as the ability to dash, an updated challenge system, and the introduction of second season content, and the ability to create local servers on PC.

 

Until September 14, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando will be on sale. The developers also released the Cosmetic Pack 2 add-on — with it, several new skins for characters and vehicles, as well as profile decorations, were introduced into the game.
