What does Xbox look like after a massive restructuring? Xbox Game Studios is preparing three new games
After a massive restructuring of Microsoft, three teams remained directly within Xbox Game Studios - The Coalition, inXile Entertainment, and Playground Games, each working on a major project.
The first stage of cuts began on July 6: Microsoft announced plans to reduce its structure by about 20% within 12 months. On September 22, a new wave followed, during which another 268 employees were laid off. According to Matt Booty, the restructuring is approximately 75% complete, so new changes are still possible.
Activision gained control over Halo, Rare, and World’s Edge. Blizzard continues to work on World of Warcraft, Diablo, and a new StarCraft, while King took over the Microsoft Casual Games division. Bethesda controls Obsidian, which is working on a new Fallout, and Bethesda Game Studios – The Elder Scrolls 6.
Playground Games and Turn 10 merged into one team, which will focus on Forza and Fable. Mojang reports directly to Xbox head Asha Sharma. The future of Ninja Theory remains uncertain: Microsoft was unable to sell the studio and is considering closing it.

As a result, The Coalition is preparing Gears of War: E-Day, Playground Games — Fable, and inXile Entertainment – Clockwork Revolution.
