Fans of portable clamshells with two screens have learned when pre-orders for the AYN Thor console will start, and when the team will begin sending them out. Plus, gamers were able to study the full list of device specifications and evaluate various color options.
AYN has announced that pre-orders for the Thor portable and foldable dual-screen console will open on August 26 at 05:30 Moscow time. The team also released new images and presented the full specifications of the device.
There are four versions of the console to choose from – Lite, Base, Pro, Max, and four colors – black, white, gray (with multi-colored buttons), purple. The main screen is a 6-inch AMOLED display (or OLED), resolution – 1080*1920, refresh rate – 120 Hz, brightness – 650 nits, contrast ratio – 100,000:1, color gamut – 152% sRGB.
Lower screen specifications: 3.92-inch AMOLED display (or OLED), resolution – 1080*1240, refresh rate – 60 Hz, brightness – 550 nits, contrast ratio – 100,000:1, color gamut – 150% sRGB.
The Base, Pro, and Max versions received a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which has eight cores – 1xX4@2.8GHz, 4xA720@2.6GHz, 3xA520@1.9GHz, Adreno 740@680MHz graphics processor, active cooling, LPDDR5x@4200MHz RAM (8GB | 12GB | 16GB), built-in UFS4.0 memory (128GB | 256GB | 1TB), 6000 mAh battery (charging speed – 27 Watts), Wi-Fi 7 and BT5.3.
Plus, they have USB 3.1 Type C, 3.5mm audio jack, TF card slot, DisplayPort 4Kp60 Alt Mode video output and Android 13 OS.
The Lite version of the console was given a Snapdragon 865 chip, which has eight cores – 1xA77@2.84GHz, 3xA77@2.42GHz, 4xA55@1.8GHz, Adreno 650@587MHz graphics processor, LPDDR4x@2133MHz RAM (8GB), built-in UFS3.1 memory (128GB), active cooling, 6000 mAh battery, Wi-Fi 6, BT5.1, DisplayPort 1080p Alt Mode video output, Android 13 OS, USB 3.1 Type C, 3.5mm audio jack, TF card slot.
