Not everyone is happy with LoL's monetization model and content quality.
The developers of League of Legends offer a variety of donation options. Some skins can be purchased directly, some can be obtained through the battle pass, and there is also a "gacha" where rare skins can be obtained.
The gacha has a guaranteed drop, so a lucky player can pull it relatively quickly. In the worst case, you will need to donate about 24 thousand rubles for spins.
LoveForNuWa began to criticize one of these skins - he was not satisfied with the quality of the "Spirit Blossom Morgana" skin. He considers the design unfinished and "Riot's audacity to sell this skin in the state it is in for 250 euros, and the numerous complaints from players pointing out problems, lack of features and its clear incompatibility with other such skins" - worried me.
The player recalled that "Companies operating in the EU are obliged to comply with consumer protection rules, directives and laws" - therefore, he decided to appeal to the authorities and wrote a complaint to the European Commission in order to obtain their assessment of "whether Riot's handling of this skin complies with current consumer rights and digital product standards."
He was redirected to the European Consumer Centre in Austria, where he was answered and offered several options:
- seek a reduction in the price of the skin;
- send a complaint to lawyers and go to a local court;
- with the support of the Austrian authorities, send a claim on behalf of gamers to the authorities of the country where the Riot Games office is located;
Now LoveForNuWa is collecting complaints from other community members and preparing to sort things out:
"As you can see, the authorities are taking this case very seriously, and it is likely that Riot may be held accountable and the developers will face significant consequences."
