Developers from Aya Games promise an atmospheric adventure without words in a dark world resembling a living painting.
Aya Games studio has announced that the platformer with horror elements Ayasa: Shadows of Silence will be released on September 25 on Steam. The project is also planned for release on all current consoles — PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, but the release dates on these platforms have not yet been revealed.
Ayasa: Shadows of Silence combines elements of platformer, quest and horror, focusing on visual storytelling. There is not a single dialogue in the game — instead of words, pantomime, symbolism, music and expressive images are used. According to the developers, the visual style is inspired by the works of Tim Burton, René Laloux, Robert Sahakyants and Hayao Miyazaki. Each level will resemble a living painting.
The events unfold in the Inverted World — a once balanced universe that was under the protection of the Absolute Tasa. After a devastating war, darkness, greed, betrayal and indifference penetrated into it. The main character, a girl named Ayasa, embarks on a dangerous journey through distorted worlds to find the remnants of light and try to restore balance between light and shadow.
The gameplay is based on exploring six symbolic areas, each of which represents a moral category: Faith, Hope, Love — and the opposite of them Greed, Betrayal and Indifference. The gameplay combines platforming, puzzles and survival elements. The heroine has several abilities at her disposal, including time manipulation, invisibility and energy control, allowing her to advance through the plot and solve problems.
The game will be available in Russian. A demo version is already available on Steam.
