Dead Space creator and former Call of Duty director Glen Schofield said in an interview that the gaming industry is "sick" and needs "treatment." At Gamescom Asia, he presented three steps that he believes can restore its former glory.

The first is mass training of developers to work with artificial intelligence. Schofield believes that AI is inevitable, and studios should prepare employees in advance.

The developer also urged not to be afraid of AI: "Use it as a tool. Let the lawyers deal with the rights." He is confident that technology and interest in story-driven games will eventually return game development to growth.

The second step is to appoint experienced managers to large projects. According to Schofield, many failures occur due to the wrong choice of directors: "You spend hundreds of millions, but give control to people who have never released games."

The third proposal is the revival of the E3 exhibition. Schofield is confident that its disappearance weakened the industry and deprived developers of a platform to showcase their creativity.
