The creator believes that "early" players deserve greater gratitude.

Recently, the creator of No Rest for the Wicked once again decided to speak out on social media. This time, Thomas Mahler explained the pricing policy.

At the moment, No Rest for the Wicked is in early access and is being sold for $40:

The current 40% discount is a one-time promotion in honor of the release of No Rest for the Wicked Together. The goal was to make it as easy as possible for more people to join and play together — and combined with the "free weekend," it obviously worked. I am not trying to create FOMO [use the fear of missing out], but yes: when version 1.0 is released, the price of No Rest for the Wicked will rise to $60, because this is a premium project. We announced this a long time ago and have repeated it many times.

Thomas Mahler continued and explained that No Rest for the Wicked costs less because early access players deserve "extra gratitude":

BG3 entered early access at full price — personally, I never liked that approach. If you support a game at an early stage, you deserve a little extra gratitude. I am talking about [the upcoming price increase] now only so that no one will be surprised or upset later. If you are still considering buying Wicked, the current sale really is a good time to join.
