The actor from the series "Lucifer" admitted that he was close to playing Mister Fantastic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Tom Ellis, the lead actor in the series "Lucifer," revealed that he auditioned for the role of Reed Richards in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Square Mile magazine, the actor admitted that he was among the few contenders who were invited to record a screen test for the film "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," which was released in July of this year.
"There was a small group of actors who were asked to make a recording for this role. I was waiting for the right offer, and when I looked at the image of Richards in the comics, I thought: 'Perhaps this could be it.' We really look a bit alike."
In the end, the role of Mister Fantastic went to Pedro Pascal. Ellis took it with humor: "To be honest, he doesn't have that much free time," the actor joked, adding that he considers Pascal an excellent choice.
"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" became the first chapter of the sixth phase of the MCU. The plot follows a team of superheroes from an alternate reality as they encounter the Silver Surfer and Galactus.
