Netflix continues to build the cast for the upcoming Assassin's Creed adaptation.
According to Deadline, Netflix has confirmed Lola Petticrew ("Nothing to Say") for one of the key roles in the Assassin's Creed series. Like the previously confirmed Toby Wallace, the actress will play one of the central characters in the project. Details of her involvement are being kept secret, but it is known that she will be a regular character important to the plot.
The Assassin's Creed series is described as a "high-octane thriller about a secret war between two factions. One seeks to control the future of humanity through manipulation, the other defends free will." The story will unfold against the backdrop of significant historical events, but will focus on completely new characters not featured in the games.
Filming is scheduled for 2026 and will take place in Italy. This choice of location has already sparked rumors about the possible historical setting of the first season, but the time period has not been officially disclosed. Earlier sources claimed that the events could touch on the era of Ancient Rome, but Netflix has not confirmed this information.
The showrunners are Roberto Patino, who worked on "Westworld," and David Wiener, known for the series "Halo." They are also executive producers of the project along with representatives from Ubisoft Film & Television, including Gerard Guillemot and Margaret Boykin. The series is being created as part of an agreement between Netflix and Ubisoft, signed in 2020.
The release date has not yet been announced.
