It seems that EFT fans are in for a long journey.
Recently, Battlestate Games boss Nikita Buyanov spoke with the author of the YouTube channel "Проходимец" and shared his vision for the future of Escape from Tarkov. The developers intend to continue delivering new content, and some old ideas may still appear in the game in the future.
Fans from the "Tarkov Meta-Movement" community studied the interview and highlighted some points.
For example, part of the cut content for Escape from Tarkov is planned to be added in the form of DLC, and "BSG now has plans for at least 10 years of support." They have not forgotten about old developments — they will later add "Molotov", a cat, and more.
- Killcams in the usual form will not be available, but other options are being considered, such as recording from a drone or satellite imagery, in order to "not destroy the immersion."
- The online shooter Escape from Tarkov Arena is planned to be released on Steam, but later — they are currently polishing it and filling it with content.
- BSG has big plans to "conquer the Steam audience."
- For the development of the PvE mode, they are now considering adding a social mode (raids where PMCs cannot damage each other), a separate prestige system (which will differ from PvP), and new storylines.
- The Unheard Edition cannot be added to Steam "due to the platform's rules, according to which all promised content must be added within 12 months" — a separate edition is planned for Valve's service, which will include bonuses from TUE, except for the season pass. Future DLCs on Steam will be sold separately.
