Bandai Namco Does Not Guarantee Stable 30 FPS in Tales of Berseria. New Statement Confused Fans
Bandai Namco revealed the technical parameters of the upcoming JRPG remaster, but the wording about performance raised questions.
The Tales of Berseria remaster is being prepared for release on Nintendo Switch, and Bandai Namco has published the first details about the resolution and frame rate. According to the official statement, on the first Switch, the game will run at 30 frames per second, but the FPS "may temporarily change depending on the situation and environment."
It was this wording that caused a reaction in the community. Fans do not understand whether we are talking about a possible increase in the frame rate in simple scenes or, conversely, about dips below the declared 30 FPS. Concerns are heightened by last year's Tales of Xillia Remastered, where performance drops were recorded in loaded episodes with a similar limit of 30 frames.
Bandai Namco also confirmed the resolution parameters for the Switch version: - 1920×1080 in docked mode - 1280×720 in portable mode. At the same time, the versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will run at 60 frames per second with support for resolutions up to 4K.
Separately, the company noted that it is testing the compatibility of the remaster with Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch 2, but is not ready to make any specific statements at the moment.
Tales of Berseria Remastered will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC on February 27, 2026.
