Stardew Valley continues to inspire players to conduct unusual experiments.

A Reddit user with the nickname Holozard conducted an unusual experiment in Stardew Valley, forcing his character to sleep for 1000 in-game years. The experiment was implemented on the Nintendo Switch version without the use of mods. It took about three weeks of real time to complete.

To automate the process, the player used a gamepad with a "turbo" function, setting the confirmation button to be constantly pressed. The analog stick was fixed with a rubber band so that the character would approach the bed and go to sleep every day. The console worked almost continuously, but sometimes the process was interrupted due to failures when the owner did not have time to quickly restart the game. In total, the system recorded about 150 hours of game time.

Over a thousand years, the farm was completely overgrown with mushroom trees, weeds, and stones. According to the author of the experiment, selling chopped mushroom trees brought in almost half a million in-game currency.

In addition, the surroundings were literally littered with meteorites and stone owls, which appear with a chance of 1% and 0.5%, respectively.
