After a mixed reaction to the Super Bowl teaser, the studio showed a full trailer for the film.
The film "The Mandalorian & Grogu" has received a new full trailer. The premiere took place a week and a half after the 36-second teaser was shown during the Super Bowl, which drew criticism from the audience.
In the first video, Disney showed an atmospheric scene with Din Djarin and Grogu riding across a snowy plain. Some viewers found the video "empty" and not spectacular enough, especially considering the cost of the advertising slot, estimated at approximately $10 million. Later, representatives from Disney and Lucasfilm explained the concept of the teaser as an "emotional reminder of the heroes," but the audience expected a more detailed demonstration of the film.
The new trailer focuses on dynamics and scale. The video shows action scenes, hints at the central conflict, and a broader visual scope. Director Jon Favreau previously emphasized that the project was originally developed as a theatrical release, designed to bring audiences back to theaters.
"The Mandalorian & Grogu" will be released internationally on May 22, 2026. The film will be the first full-length installment in the "Star Wars" universe in the last seven years and will effectively test the audience's willingness to support the franchise in theaters again.
