Nine years after the announcement, the "Invincible" movie is still alive.
The creator of "Invincible," Robert Kirkman, commented on the status of the film and confirmed that the project is still in development. In an interview with ScreenRant, he noted that the main resources are currently focused on the animated series, but "there are some movements behind the scenes, but we can't reveal anything new yet."
The film was announced back in 2017. It was then revealed that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are working on the project — they are acting as screenwriters, directors, and producers. Kirkman is also involved in the production and previously stated that he would be "surprised" if the adaptation does not eventually happen.
So far, neither the cast nor the production timeline has been announced. Fan casting options are periodically discussed online, but the studio has not announced any official decisions. Previously, the director of the movie "Captain Marvel 2," Nia DaCosta, expressed a desire to film an adaptation of "Invincible," but there is no information about her participation or negotiations either.
Meanwhile, the fourth season of "Invincible" has started on Prime Video. The first three episodes were released on March 18, and the fourth will be available on March 25.
