Todd Howard believes that leaks about Bethesda games are not beneficial to either developers or players

Previously, players were able to learn about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered before the official announcement.

Recently, Todd Howard gave an interview to GamesRadar. During the conversation with the journalist, the topic of leaks was touched upon.

According to the creator, they do not benefit either developers or players. Howard cited Oblivion as an example.

Players were not sure whether the updated version of TES IV would be a full-fledged remake or whether the developers would only slightly improve the graphics:

If you hear that we are doing a remaster of the game, then everyone will have their own version of what that means in their head. And I think it only adds uncertainty.

Leaks about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered once again convinced Bethesda that there is no need to announce the project in advance.

The developers want the time between the game's showing and its release to be minimal:

[The Oblivion Remaster] turned out to be incredibly successful. And this, of course, makes us wonder: will there be remasters of our other games in the future? If so, which ones? How will we approach this? We are thinking about all this.
