Next After Google Stadia? Amazon Changes Cloud Service Strategy for Luna - Access to Games Will Be Limited

Amazon's Luna cloud gaming service is facing significant changes that will noticeably limit its capabilities.

Amazon has confirmed that starting April 10, 2026, the platform will no longer offer game stores, game purchases, or integrations with third-party subscriptions.

In practice, this means the end of cooperation with Ubisoft+, EA, and GOG in their previous form. The "connect your own library" feature, which allowed launching games purchased outside of Luna in the cloud, will also be disabled.

Access to already purchased products will only be maintained until June 10, 2026. After that, playing them through the cloud will not be possible. The games themselves will remain available only on the platforms where they were originally purchased.

Amazon will focus on developing its own Luna Premium subscription and integration with Prime. The company is abandoning the "play what you want" model in favor of a library with subscription-based rotation.

These changes reflect the general trend of problems with cloud services after the closure of Google Stadia. Amazon Luna is also moving away from its original concept.
