Everything will be fine: Nintendo asked not to worry that there are hardly any games on Switch 2
The company promised more releases in the second half of the fiscal year.
Nintendo has published a transcript of a recent Q&A session with investors, revealing additional details about the company's financial performance and plans for the second half of the current fiscal year. One of the main topics of discussion was the game lineup for the new Switch 2 console, which, according to some fans, currently looks insufficiently rich in major exclusives.
Currently, new projects for the Yoshi, Splatoon, and Fire Emblem series have already been confirmed for Switch 2, but players note the absence of new Mario and Zelda installments. Against this backdrop, investors asked the Nintendo president whether the company would be able to maintain a stable release schedule, given the significantly increased development times for modern games.
Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged that game development indeed takes longer than before, but emphasized that Nintendo is working to improve internal development processes. According to him, the company is preparing many new projects for Switch 2, including both major releases and smaller-scale games.
In addition, the head of Nintendo confirmed that users can expect unannounced projects in the second half of the current fiscal year.
We are preparing a variety of new games for Nintendo Switch 2, regardless of whether they are considered "major" releases or not. In addition to already announced projects, we have new games planned for the second half of this fiscal year, and we will share details at the appropriate time.
