"Less than a year until release": Nintendo moves up The Legend of Zelda film premiere
This is the second postponement, but this time to an earlier date.
Nintendo has moved up the premiere of The Legend of Zelda live-action film. Shigeru Miyamoto announced on social media that the film will be released worldwide on April 30, 2027 – a week earlier than the previous date of May 7.
"The team is working hard to bring the film to everyone as soon as possible. There's less than a year until release, so thank you for your patience."
Previously, the premiere had already been shifted from March 26, 2027, to May 7. The new postponement indicates that Nintendo is looking for a more favorable release window and indirectly confirms that production is on schedule.
The film is directed by Wes Ball, known for "The Maze Runner." Bo Bragason will play Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will portray Link. The screenplay is written by Derek Connolly, who worked on "Jurassic World."
