GOALS developers managed to attract players' attention.

In early June, the GOALS studio presented its eponymous project on PC and consoles. It positions GOALS as a dynamic football game with responsive gameplay, based on skill, fair competition, and a global community of players.

According to the developers, gameplay comes first for them: "At its core are responsiveness, balance, and its own physics model. No input lag. Smarter AI":

This is a football game without a paywall [without barriers that require donations to remove] and locked modes. Full access from the start and development as a global online service. New content, features, and events will be added constantly, allowing the game to grow with the community and remain fresh for players of all levels.

The GOALS PC page on Steam is available at the following link. The first reviews of the project are "mixed" – players note technical problems and complain about the controls. User haslow noted that the balance is poorly tuned:

[...] played against a real opponent. At the beginning of the match, I quickly scored a goal and thought everything was great - my FIFA experience helps. But the joy was short-lived. After that, it became clear that there were serious balance problems in the game. If the opponent's squad is better, you are essentially already in a losing position. And the strangest thing is - it's clear that the opponent himself is weaker in terms of play: you read his actions, you understand what he will do next, but you just can't counter anything. He runs - and you can't catch him. He makes simple passes - and your players don't cover them. In the end, he just scores. Sometimes it feels like the match is decided by cards, not skill.
