"What a Release!": Gothic 1 Remake Developers Announce First Patch and Respond to Lockpicking Complaints

The developers heard feedback on optimization and some game mechanics.

In early June, Gothic 1 Remake was released on PC and consoles. The new title received many positive reviews, but some technical issues are still present.

The developers reviewed the community's reaction to the game and addressed gamers – the first patch is in the works:

What a release! We are, of course, monitoring all channels and have identified several extremely important points that we want to address.

Regarding the console versions of the Gothic remake:

Performance on PS5 and PS5 Pro: we are monitoring the situation and will be looking for solutions. This is not something that can be fixed overnight, it will take time, but know this: we hear your feedback!

The developers called the deletion of saves on PlayStation after game crashes a "critical issue" and added that they will release a fix as soon as a solution is found.

The authors of Gothic 1 Remake confirmed that they "noticed reports of some game crashes" on PC and are monitoring the situation. The first patch with fixes is planned for release on Monday (June 8).

They also responded to complaints about lockpicking – players were advised to invest skill points in lockpicking:

We are monitoring feedback on lockpicking – opinions on this matter are very divided. We cannot help but emphasize: this process becomes significantly easier when you start investing skill points in the corresponding ability.

The full list of changes for the first Gothic 1 Remake patch has not yet been published.
